The information collected here is especially valuable since nearly all of Ireland’s pre-1901 census records were lost in a 1922 fire at the Public Records Office in Dublin. This database has reconstructions of the 1841 and 1851 censuses based on a lot of research and transcriptions of the 1851 census pieces that are still available for County Cork. In addition, you’ll find records of wills that were abstracted or copied before the fire.
