Two generations of family came to USA thru Halifax,NC,Canada, to Rochester,NY,in 1837/38 [one son Michael(ggf)1837 -came age 12 to apprentice as mason; father William,wife,other siblings, Peter H,Patrick,Jane, and baby Johanna (b Can) 1837. William (b 1798) fought w/ Wellington Forces in defeat of Napoleon, at Battle of Waterloo 1815, was severely injured and pensioned. Recorded name was commonly misspelled,(all spoke Irish as well as English) as heard, as: Havey,Heavy,Heaphy,Heaney, etc. on official documents of time in USA – Michael was born 1824 eastern Galway IR, probably 10 mile radius of Ballygar, Killeroran/Killian.
