McCleaf as a surname does not exist in Ireland. I can\’t make a connection to the originating family in Ireland until I find out what the original surname was, so locating the original immigrant and their immigration records would be extremely helpful. I\’ve been \”told\” many things, but haven\’t been given proof of any of it. One of the things I was told was that the name was \’probably\’ McCleave originally, but that hasn\’t proven to be of any help.
