It’s hard to know if our original ancestor (born abt. 1750-60) was Dutch or German; possible indentured servant to a doctor in Virginia just after Revolutionary War; first found in 1790 Census in Rutherford, NC, then in 1805 TN Census. Sons appear in AL, Texas and Arkansas. Said to have had 2 brothers who went to PA. Lots of people with the same name, and pretty much all connected – just looking to break through the brick wall back to Europe.
