My “White” surname has proven back to North Carolina. James E White 1793-1870 was born in North Carolina. He spent some years in Georgia before finally settling in Pike County, Alabama. The area he settled is now in Crenshaw County, Alabama. Several of his offspring removed and finally settled in Texas.

I am a “White” of the line. I have several family members buried in what is now Crenshaw County. I have had a hard time getting concrete evidence of the ancestors of this James E. White. He would be my 3x great grandfather.
